C4.3 – Electronic Dynamics in Templated and Self-Organized pi-Conjugated Systems

This project focusses on the physics of charge and energy transfer as well as singlet-triplet conversion processes in aligned pi-conjugated systems. The molecular alignment is induced by direct templating, by DNA engineering, or by supramolecular coordination (collaborations within TIDE). The main techniques used are femtosecond optical spectroscopies such as transient absorption spectroscopy.


The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in physical chemistry or condensed matter physics with emphasis on (time resolved) optics or optical spectroscopy and photo-physical properties of materials.

We offer a variety of state-of-the art static and ultrafast spectroscopy facilities.
